Is it possible to over-exfoliate with Softwear?
Hydroxycaprylic Acid is the chemical exfoliant that powers Softwear’s smoothing capabilities. This lipophilic (oil loving) AHA has a large molecule size, meaning it has a lower irritation profile than AHAs like glycolic and lactic acid. It helps slough off of dead skin cells removing those dry crusties, revealing soft, smooth lips. Knowing that lip balms are used frequently throughout the day, it’s included at a low, but efficacious level.
Is Softwear glossy? Is it sticky??
Softwear is a true lip balm, not a gloss. It glides on clear with a medium shine and leaves a balmy dewy finish. Due to the squalane base, the formula isn’t sticky– we promise.

I decided to try Softwear after being very intrigued by the positive reviews on the website, but I was also a bit skeptical. My lips are dry little suckers, it's just a fact. I've tried so many different chapsticks, balms, lip oils that all make big claims for hydration that they don't live up to. My typical qualms with most lip products are they make my lips drier, the product sits on top of my lips, they're sticky, and I have to reapply constantly. When I tried Softwear for the first time, I was instantly impressed by the feel of the formula on my lips, it's rich, velvety and not sticky. I was even more impressed that I could still feel it on my lips HOURS later without reapplication. But what has impressed me the most after using this product for a couple of months is how my lips truly feel happier and the most hydrated they've been in ages. I can honestly say this is one of my very favorite lip balms I've ever tried, and I think it's fair to say I'm a harsh critic. I've gifted it to a few friends recently as well who have all raved about it too!
