Is it possible to over-exfoliate with Softwear?
Hydroxycaprylic Acid is the chemical exfoliant that powers Softwear’s smoothing capabilities. This lipophilic (oil loving) AHA has a large molecule size, meaning it has a lower irritation profile than AHAs like glycolic and lactic acid. It helps slough off of dead skin cells removing those dry crusties, revealing soft, smooth lips. Knowing that lip balms are used frequently throughout the day, it’s included at a low, but efficacious level.
Is Softwear glossy? Is it sticky??
Softwear is a true lip balm, not a gloss. It glides on clear with a medium shine and leaves a balmy dewy finish. Due to the squalane base, the formula isn’t sticky– we promise.

Bought this on a whim since I couldn't find my usual Lip Fondue lip balm and there was a sale! Didn't think this was any different from the Lip Fondue lip balm until I went back to it. Softwear is DEFINITELY the better balm! I don't have to scrub my lips or peel of any dead skin, since this lip balm does ALL the work for me! I won't be able to use non-exfoliating balms after experiencing this one, I fear!

I really love this product. I got it when it first came out, just to try. It quickly replaced my nightly lip mask, and I even ordered a backup tube shortly after, which is pretty aggressive restocking behavior for me, but goes to show how much I love the product. I use it every night and typically don’t or barely need to use lip balm throughout the day. One tube lasted me at least about four months of nightly use. I think the combo of the exfoliant with all of the hydrating/moisture retaining ingredients is the key to its greatness, alongside the texture, feel, and reasonable price. Thank you, Experiment, for sharing this product with us all. Huge fan!!!!!
