Plasma Wash
For a gentle, yet strangely effective cleanse! Plasma Wash is a moisture depositing gel cream cleanser clinically proven to hydrate and restore your skin barrier all day long, after just one use. Plasma Wash is a low-foaming formula that harnesses the gentle cleansing power of amino acid surfactants to easily dissolve daily gunk, SPF, and makeup. While most cleanser ingredients end up going down the drain, this innovative formula uses glycerin depositing compounds to build a sphere of protective moisture that sticks around, even after rinsing! Use on repeat — this wash is gentle enough for morning, and effective enough for evening.
DAILY WASH
Dispense a generous amount into hands and lather. Massage onto wet skin for about 60 seconds to effectively dissolve daily dirt, SPF, and makeup, then rinse. Reminder to cleanse around your hairline 👀
DOUBLE WASH
For removal of seriously stubborn makeup, you can ‘rinse and repeat’ for additional cleansing without the risk of overstripping the skin. Plasma Wash can be used as both your “first” and “second” cleansing step, instead of using a separate oil cleanser.
6% AMINO ACID SURFACTANTS
These gentle cleansing agents create a light, creamy lather that effectively removes your daily SPF and makeup without stripping skin.
15% GLYCERIN
When paired with cleansing agents, this hydration superstar reduces the potential risk of irritation and dryness while also boosting moisture.
0.5% CASTORYL MALEATE
Allow us to introduce you to this low key MVP. Castoryl Maleate is a lipid look-alike that helps glycerin stick to skin during rinse off, instead of going down the drain.
2.6% JOJOBA OIL + FATTY ACIDS
Traditional cleansers can strip away essential lipids, which is why we added these emollients to limit harshness and help replenish your skin for a soft, clean finish.
In a clinical study of 35 people, Plasma Wash was clinically proven to continuously hydrate and restore your skin barrier after just one use.

Will Plasma Wash remove my makeup?
Consider Plasma Wash your jack of all trades cleanser, it easily removes most SPF + makeup without the need for double cleansing! For stubborn makeup, you can ‘rinse and repeat’ for additional cleansing without the risk of overstripping the skin. Great for those who like simpler routines or frankly, don’t want to bother with two products to do one job.
Hot Chemist Tip: Like dissolves like! Some waterproof makeup, particularly waterproof mascaras, are oil and wax heavy so it’s best to start with a specialist product like an oil-based cleanser or makeup remover.
How foamy is Plasma Wash?
Plasma Wash is a low foaming cleanser with a dense texture that transforms into a light & creamy lather. Heads up– if you’re a self-identifying foam fiend, Plasma Wash’s lather might be a bit anticlimactic for you!
Is Plasma Wash suitable for oily, acne-prone skin?
Yes! Plasma Wash was designed to be gentle yet highly effective so that it’s suitable for all skin types. However, if you’re a fan of “squeaky clean” feeling cleansers, please note that Plasma Wash is a low-foaming, hydrating cleanser– so your skin will feel softer and less taut than you might be used to! Totally depends on your personal preferences when it comes to feeling clean. But rest assured, Plasma Wash is going above and beyond when it comes to the job of cleansing!

ALL DAY HYDRATION: 33% increase in skin hydration 8 hours after use
Can a cleanser actually deposit moisture?
Plasma Wash can! While amino acid surfactants work their cleansing magic, castoryl maleate and glycerin come together to build a sphere of protective hydration on the skin. The unique structure of castoryl maleate allows it to deposit on your skin while bringing glycerin along for the ride to deliver a soft, comfortably hydrated feel that lasts. No more post cleanse tightness!

No makeup remover needed, but also hydrating!
My sister introduced me to this brand through the “super saturated” product. I fell in love with it and ordered some for myself. It was so lightweight and refreshing and fast-drying but also super hydrating without making my pores feel clogged. It was the perfect hydration to have pre- makeup application. Anyway, at night I wanted something even more hydrating and repairing because it turns out my skin really needed this… so I bought the buffer jelly! I was worried because it seemed so thick and oily, but OMG I WOKE UP WOTH THE MOST GLOWY AND CLEAN SKIN! And you only need like the tiniest little amount! Obviously I immediately bought the face wash and….. bam… no more breakouts and no more makeup remover needed. One little dollop and my makeup is washed right off AND my skin is hydrated. So when they came out with the mesh moisturizer, I bought it immediately. ALSO, the colors! I love my bathroom counter. It’s so quirky and delightful now. Thank you Experiment lady scientists! You are life changing! I love you and I want to have brunch with you.

Great product, bottle issues
Love the product but I knocked a star off because I hate the bottle. It doesn’t matter what I do with the cap, water collects in it. Traveling with it is a pain because the product leaks. I have to wrap the bottle in paper towels and stick it in a ziplock. Then when I go to use the product it oozes out uncontrollably for the first few uses, so I end up using more than intended. I don’t know what about the bottle (or maybe product consistency?) causes it to do this. I’ve never had this issue with other face washes. It’s fine at home, but I travel a bunch so it’s an ongoing issue.
